Bulgarian Striker Bojinov Rubbishes City Exit Talk Bulgarian Striker Bojinov Rubbishes City Exit Talk
Bulgarian striker Valery Bojinov, currently recovering from ruptured cruciate ligaments in his knee, rubbished on Thursday talk of his exit from English Premier League side Manchester City.
Reports in Turkish press have claimed Bojinov, who has been out since the Manchester derby on August 19, will join Istanbul team Galatasaray, but the striker himself claims he has no such plans.
"This is nothing but speculation, I don't understand the people who come up with such stuff. I have a club, where I am happy, where the manager [Sven Goran Ericsson] has confidence in me," the striker told Bulgarian sports website Gong.
"I've spent a whole evening talking to Galatasaray? What nonsense, that never happened," he added.
Bojinov was stretchered off the pitch in the 6th minute of the Manchester derby and had to undergo surgery for ruptured cruciate ligaments in his knee in Rome.
The striker, who became a father during his lay off, is not listed as injured by website physioroom.com, which tracks injuries to Premier League players, and is working to regain full fitness.
"I've never said I want to leave City, quite the opposite, I can't wait to get back on the pitch. I want to help the team into Europe," he said. |
